Carrie from Boogie Beat has been a regular at nursery for years. Boogie Beat are a music and movement class encouraging children to develop confidence and co-ordination through music, singing and dance. Carrie's sessions last for 30 minutes and there is a small additional charge.
Each week a different room takes its turn to cook supper for the rest of the nursery. At 4pm we set up our 'baby cafe' and select a number of willing servers and our culinary delights are 'sold' to the remaining children.
Using our nursery balance bikes we access the large carpark on site and practice our balancing and co-ordination skills. Please provide a suitably fitted helmet for your child/children, and you are welcome to bring in your own bike from home.
Although young children may not be ready for competitive games there are lots of activities that can be adapted to suit them. Ball games help to develop hand-eye co-ordination, dexterity and balance, while large group games allow children to move with confidence in large spaces.
Activities that are directly controlled by the nursery, such as bike club and baby cafe, take place on a different day each "term", so as many children as possible get the chance to take part, whichever day or days they attend nursery.
